Maldives participated in Travel & Tourism trade exhibitions in January 2007 |

The Maldives Tourism Promotion Board together with Maldives Tourism Industry has participated in several travel & tourism exhibitions held in Austria, Netherlands and Norway.
Maldives particpated in Vakantieburs Travel Fair held in Utrecht, Netherlands from 9th to 14th January 2007 was one of the largest consumer focused travel trade exhibitions in the entire Benelux region. This year nineteen representatives from 10 private companies represented the Maldives tourism in Utrecht In the year 2006 Maldives welcomed 8050 tourists from Netherlands. This is an increase of over 25% compared to the year 2004.Maldives continued its promotions in Reiseliv Travel Fair held in Oslo, Norway from 11-14 January 2007, which was also as relevant as Vakantiburs Fair, where the consumers are enthusiastic towards their decisions made at the event for their next vacation destination. Event organizers estimated that over 40,000 consumers and travel trade visited the fair. In combination with this event, Maldives Tourism Promotion Board hosted a press conference for Media and Travel Trade to provide more information on the Maldives. The next event where Maldives particpated was Ferien Messe Fair held in Vienna, Austria from 11-14 January 2007. A significant number of people visited the Maldives stand to gather more information on the possible vacation and destination information. Austria is considered to be an immerging market for the Maldives with a large number of populations with high disposable income and easy accessibility to the Maldives.
Maldives stand organized a number of activities such as press conference for media, lucky draws, free giveaways to attract more visitors to the stand.
